Policy.
Nordic Technology Outdoor is responsible for the personal data processed through Norway By. This policy explains what may be collected, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
1. Information we process
Depending on the features you choose, this may include account and contact details, saved trips and preferences, approximate or precise location when you grant permission, device and app information, diagnostics, and messages you send to us. We only request information needed to provide, secure, and improve the service.
2. How information is used
Information may be used to operate the app, show relevant regional content, save and synchronise travel plans, provide support, maintain security, fix errors, understand service performance, and meet legal obligations. Location access is optional and controlled through your device settings.
3. Legal bases
Where the GDPR applies, processing is based on performance of a service you request, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and improving Norway By, or compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
4. Sharing and service providers
We may use carefully selected providers for hosting, analytics, maps, communications, security, and app distribution. They may process limited information on our instructions. We do not sell personal data. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect users, the public, or our legal rights.
5. International transfers
If a provider processes data outside Norway or the European Economic Area, we use an appropriate legal transfer mechanism and safeguards required by applicable data-protection law.
6. Retention and security
We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described, including legal, accounting, security, and dispute-resolution requirements. We use reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect it, although no digital service can guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to certain processing. You may also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) or your local supervisory authority. Requests can be made through the official contact channel published in the Norway By app-store listing or within the app.
8. Children and updates
Norway By is not directed to children who cannot lawfully consent to data processing in their country. We may update this policy as the service develops; the current version and effective date will always appear on this page.
